Wholistic Dog Behavior and Training.

At Coaching Canine Companions, we help seasoned pup parents, new pup parents and pet professionals understand the importance of properly training and socializing puppies and dogs through novel experiences to ensure they are happy, healthy, and well-adjusted members of the family.

We provide the tools and guidance needed to teach pups good habits and prevent them from developing bad behaviors.

However, when life throws us a curveball, like the pandemic, or epi-genetic conditions, our dogs unintentionally end up getting emotionally hurt because they are unprepared to handle the stresses of our crazy world.

The same stress results when the gifted pup parents are allowed to work at home; the pup simply never learns self-sufficiency. At times, this even crosses over into learned helplessness for your anxious pup. Often, our pups grow into a state of anxious brain lock.

There is hope for your little fur baby with challenges like:

  1. Leash reactivity.

  2. Dog aggression.

  3. Anxious or fear-based living.

This is where they are just not able to get into a happy place or into an optimal place of learning.

Hence, we now have an over dependent pup that expresses severe separation anxiety, working themselves up into a frenzy and spending the day circling, pacing, and panting, and sometimes even injuring themselves.

It is important that dogs are trained to work successfully in a variety of settings. We will show you how to succeed with that and so much more.

At Coaching Canine Companions, we prioritize teaching pup parents the art of canine communication as the primary tool for building a lasting relationship with their dogs.

Successful dog training is about more than just physical control and obedience. It's about building a strong bond and effective communication with your furry friend.

While leash handling skills are essential, we believe that the leash should be used primarily as a guide for establishing boundaries, rather than simply moving your dog from point A to point B.

Our team of experienced trainers will guide you through the process of understanding your dog's body language, vocal cues, and behavior. By learning to interpret and respond to your dog's communication signals, you'll gain the foundation needed to address behavioral issues and strengthen your relationship.

Top Dog Behavior Trips

Welcome to our top dog behavior training tips!

As pet parents ourselves, we understand the importance of a well-behaved and balanced furry friend.

Whether you have a new puppy or a seasoned companion, these expert tips will help you build a strong bond and have a happy, well-adjusted dog in no time!

1. Consistency is key:
Dogs thrive on routine and consistency. Set clear rules and expectations from the beginning and stick to them.

This will help your dog understand what is expected of them and create a peaceful and structured environment.

2. Positive reinforcement:

Play and Reward-based training is highly effective. Use treats, praise, and toys to reward your dog's good behavior.

This will encourage them to repeat those behaviors and learn faster. Remember to be generous with your praise and keep training sessions short and fun.

3. Be a strong leader:

Dogs are pack animals and look to their pup parents for guidance. Establish yourself as a confident and trustworthy leader by setting boundaries and providing guidance.

This will help your dog feel secure and reduce unwanted behaviors, such as excessive barking or separation anxiety.

4. Enrichment training and socialization:
Expose your dog to different people, animals, and environments from a young age. Proper enrichment and socialization is crucial for preventing fear and aggression issues. Gradually introduce your dog to new experiences and reward them for calm and confident behavior.

5. Exercise and mental stimulation:
A tired dog is a well-behaved dog. Regular exercise helps release excess energy, reduces behavioral problems, and keeps your dog physically fit.

Additionally, mental stimulation through puzzle toys, obedience training, and interactive games is just as important to keep their minds sharp and engaged.

6. Patience and persistence:

Dog training takes time and effort. Be patient with your furry friend and understand that each dog learns at their own pace. Celebrate small victories and remain consistent and persistent.

Your dedication will pay off, and you'll have a well-behaved dog who brings joy and companionship to your life.

Remember, training is an ongoing process, and it's never too late to start. Incorporate these tips into your daily routine and enjoy the rewards of a happy, obedient, and well-behaved dog.
